Phoebe, MD: Medicine & Poetry
A public health physician who, through poetry, tears, and a pinch of humor, reflects on her life living in the world of medicine, patient care, and whimsical daydreaming.
When you start each day with a grateful heart, light illuminates from within.
I am thankful for so much, but at the same time…for not enough. Even in the darkest of nights, there is beauty to be appreciated. Today, I want to appreciate more.
What are you grateful for?
“One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream,
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer,
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what’s true,
One life can make the difference…
You see…it’s up to you.”
Let us make every moment count. 💙
“If I were a sunbeam,
I know what I’d do;
I would seek white lilies,
Roaming woodlands through.
I would steal among them,
Softest light I’d shed,
Until every lily
Raised its drooping head.”
Let us all shine a little upon others today. 💙

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”
