The Magic of Words [a poem]

Words can touch and soothe the soul
Words can heal others and ourselves
Words can do miracles
Words can move mountains of misery

Words can touch and soothe the soul
Words can heal others and ourselves
Words can do miracles
Words can move mountains of misery
You are stronger than you think
braver than you realize
and more loved than you know.

Wishing you all a safe and restful weekend.

There are times in life
when it feels as if
the horizon is all you have.
You want to be lifted
from your current shoreline
which has become rocky
and hard to navigate.
You have been in a season of loss
and your heart is wounded –
too much has changed for you.

A cheerful heart does well to me
A cheerful heart will keep me strong
A cheerful heart will keep me long
A cheerful heart will keep a song
A cheerful heart does well to me
Nourish beginnings,
let us nourish beginnings.
Not all things are blest,
but the seeds of all things are blest.
The blessing is in the seed.
-Muriel Rukeyser
◊
Wishing you all a beautiful first week in the new year.
May we take time to nourish this seed.

“I shall pass through this world but once.
If therefore, there be any kindness I can show,
or any good thing I can do, let me do it now:
let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
-Etienne de Grellet
◊
Wishing each one of you love and happiness as we finish off this year.

This heart is a strong muscle.
It never disappoints.
When put to work,
there is always strength,
there is always strength.
This heart is a deep well.
When the bucket is lowered
and dips into its depths,
there is always refreshment,
there is always refreshment.
