Climb In

By Cynthia Cady Stanton | Featured Contributor

Come float with me, dear one.
Climb into my boat.
I will grab your hand
and lift you in.
We can ride this out together.
The current will take us in its way
but we can see a new shore
over there.

If we work together,
we can point the boat
and use our muscles
to reach that new
and beautiful land.
The journey may be hard –
but inch by inch,
wave by wave,
we will make it.

So, climb in.
The invitation is clear.
Together we are safe.
We can make it
because we are strong.
Float with me.

Let’s rise above the current.

  1. Beautiful piece. Where there is unity, we can achieve a lot. And we all need that shoulder to lean on and hands that will hold us in those difficult times of our life. 💯

  2. What a lovely invitation from a friend … to get into a small boat and as the boat drifts with the current, (and with guidance from the friend) your cares can float away. Using it as an analogy has so many applications where a person is drowning in perceived issues, but then a life-line is offered to them. Love it. 🙂

  3. Beautiful words…..and of course these days I relate almost everything to the pandemic and these thoughts are ones I have relative to that – we might be afloat on an uncertain sea but having someone to sail with makes it easier and there’s TWO of us to keep an eye on the waiting shore at the end of the journey.
