Back at the children’s home, Gabriel was quite the fighter.
He and his twin sister had been found beside a river.
He made it, but tragically his sister didn’t.

My heart goes out for him 🙁 please continue taking photos and making these posts, they let us see a whole other side to the world
Gosh! Were they just babies when they were found? How old is Gabriel now?
Yes they were very young when they were found. He would be 4 now. 🙂
Such a contrast of emotions in this image and story. We rejoice the survival of a child while we mourn the loss of his sister. Thanks for sharing, Phoebe.
Very sad indeed.
I know. 🙁
So young to have so much to “carry” with him………I’m sure you gave him much comfort.
Hugs, Pam
Indeed…he sure did receive a lot of love from everyone who worked at the children’s home. 🙂
I could not imagine coming upon the two alongside the river. All that desperation I imagine would have well up in me to help them fight for their own survival …a chance …sad yet triumphant story at the same time …for Gabriel lived …:)
Yes…the whole scenario is heartbreaking…but at the same time wonderful in that Gabriel was found before it was too late. 🙂
Very sad – and such a poignant photo
That’s so sad – twins have a special bond, and there will always be something missing in his life.
Yes…I believe there will be.
So tragic.
🙁
oh my that is beyond devastating. Your photos exude so much soul. DakotasDen
Thank you, Caren. Yes it was a heartbreaking story. 🙁
How tragic for Gabriel’s sister. What a precious boy!
Indeed, it was a very sad story. 🙁
