(by Samantha the Cat)
Oh, how I wish I were a dog!
A wonderfully peppy puppy dog.
Full of wisdom, stature, energy, true-
Full of wonder and curiosity, why, just like you!
Oh, how I wish I were a dog!
Carefree, whimsical, and happy with all.
I would run around, roll, and jump up high,
Fly in the air, fetch, oh gravity, I defy!
Oh, how I wish I were a dog!
Never without grace, my tongue hanging down.
I would grin all day, play, pant, and slobber,
Lick my human’s face? Of course, it’s no bother!
But alas, I was born to be merely a cat…
A simple, ordinary kitty cat.
But I adore my human, and she loves me,
So I guess it’s not too bad, wouldn’t you agree?

Very sweet!
😊 😊 😊
Well I can’t blame you for wishing you were a dog, but there is NOTHING ordinary about Sama the CAT! Don’t even think it. I wish I could write poetry like you can – so there, we’re even. (btw- MY tongue is not slimy, just so you know – and I don’t slobber either)
Woof! Tink
Teehehe…Samantha apologizes for using the generalized “slobbery tongue” stereotype. As you can tell she has not been around the canine bunch much. 😛
Tell her it’s okay. I haven’t spent a lot of time around cats, so I probably have a few stereotypes in my head too. She didn’t hurt my feelings – I just want her to know. But she’s right that our tongues are slippery-er than cat tongues. 🙂
Woof!
Aww you made Samantha purr. She likes you! 🙂
Yay!
xx, Tink
Lol. Hilarious poem. Nice job Samantha! 😀
Teehehe. Samantha thanks you for the compliment! 😉
