So I found out today
about the Liebster award,
so I thought I’d create a rhyme for you
with the hope that you won’t get bored.
I’ll start by thanking my nominator
who in this case is good ol’ ‘Jemverse,’
and then answer his eleven questions,
so I don’t get pushed into a hearse.
First question would be who inspires me,
and that in many cases are my patients,
as they never fail to touch my heart
through our encounter, our conversations.
Now while my favorite author is Dostoevsky,
my favorite book is not by him,
but Pathologies of Power, on health in developing countries-
a situation that’s dire and rather grim.
While a lot of my blog is about medicine
my first post was simpler than that-
which also brings me to my most treasured possession-
who is none other than my big, fluffy cat.
Now on to question six; we’re half way through:
“If you were a color, what would you be?”
I guess I would be brown, ‘cause it’s kind of bland
Which I’m afraid in several ways may describe me.
As for where I would like to visit-
the Galapagos…definitely.
And I would bring my first pet, Pepper
to play with the tortoises- a scene quite heavenly!
Now I will tell you my favorite flower,
which I’ll say is the water lily,
simply because I also like frogs-
oops, that reasoning is rather silly!
And as for whom I admire-
besides my mom, would be the saxophonist, the “Bird,”
which brings me to the last question- my favorite song-
“Blues for Alice”- one of the best pieces I’ve ever heard.
So thank you so much for bearing with me
as I recite my silly rhyme-
one so marvelously atrocious
it should certainly be made a crime!

I’ve always thought possums were cute.
🙂 🙂
congrats on the nomination!
In case my reply to your comment on my blog didn’t go through to you (it kept glitching on me before), I am will say it here on your blog too:
PHOEBE. OHMYGODTHANKYOUHI. EXCUSE THE CAPSLOCK BUT I FEEL LIKE IT NICELY EXPRESSES MY IMMENSE GRATITUDE AND SHOCK RIGHT NOW. I FEEL A LITTLE LOST FOR WORDS. HENCE THE CLICHE (lol). OR PERHAPS THAT WAS JUST A LAME EXCUSE FOR MY UNORIGINAL-NESS. BUT THAT LAST COMMENT IS TOO DISTASTEFUL (SOUNDS TOO MUCH LIKE A HUMBLE BRAG) SO LET’S JUST GO WITH THE FIRST OPTION: THAT YOUR KINDNESS HAS MADE ME
STUPID WITH HAPPINESS — HENCE THE CLICHES AND AGGRESSIVE CAPSLOCK (which I am stopping right now as to spare you the pain hahaa). Basically, what I’m trying to say is: you more than deserved your nomination and I thank you endlessly for the nomination — it is a pleasent surprise 🙂
Also, as an aside: fellow blogger, I have to say that you are an amazingly prolific writer/poet/artist! I must learn a thing or two from you about keeping a blog maintaneince 😉
Cheers, idacity (don’t worry! I’ll most my answers and nominations soon).

Also, this rhyme of yours is quite something, to say the least 🙂
Reading this comment again, I still think it’s totally cute. I really like your use of caps lock! 😀
Take care, and wishing you the best! And also looking forward to reading more stuff on your blog! 🙂

😀 When I’m done, I’ll be sure to link you to my Liebster Award nominations and answers. Until then though, writing: LET’S GO!
Pepper is a fantastic name for a dalmatian. I used to live in South Africa, and had a friend who called his dalmatian, ‘Stripe’. I guess that had the black/white thing going on. Good bog, by the way 🙂
Hi Sean! Lol…Stripe. I like it. 🙂
Interesting you used to live in South Africa. And I like your blog too. 🙂
Have a great evening! – phoebe
Thanks Phoebe.
Stripe was pretty cool. I’m sure that he didn’t realise the irony of his name, however 🙂
You have a great evening, too!
Congratulations on your Liebster — love the poem response (never seen that done before, and it’s cool!). And … thank you for the nomination; I’m very honored! I will accept and provide my answers in a few days. Thanks so much — and congrats again! 🙂
Thanks, and no problem. 🙂 I look forward to reading your answers! Take care! 🙂
Well deserved and congratulations!
Love the verse!
Well, I learned from the best… 😉
Congrats!
This is very creative. I really enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
Thank you for sharing yourself with us!
And thank you for reading! 🙂
