Words That Inspire: What’s Yours? 🌼

“If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;

If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,

Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,

I shall not live in vain.”

♦

This is one of my favorite poems from Emily Dickinson. These words—among others—have helped guide my heart and hand in the care for those suffering.

Do you have a favorite quote or mantra that you live by? It can be heartfelt, witty, or profound. Let’s inspire each other with some positive words today.

Love,

  1. Lovely poems and quotes shared. It’s been really heartwarming to read through them this morning. Thanks everyone <3

I've always liked the Latin proverb: Fortune favours the brave.

It reminds me that being brave is sometimes the only way to be, even if it means just not giving up.

  2. Dear Phoebe,
Thanks for liking one of my posts. Your page is very inspiring, finding kindness and empathy in people makes me feel optimistic that we are heading towards a better future.
    Abrazos!

  3. β€œBe kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” Plato. This quote is a bit controversial in who actually wrote it first but most believe it was Plato. Great and beautiful question by the way!! Thank you. πŸ’• Love Joni

  4. The quote I live by is β€œCourage is the magic that turns dreams into reality.” andddd it’s from a video game, but hey… something about it totally stuck with me for a very long time.. πŸ€—πŸ’•πŸŒ…

  5. Leo Buscaglia introduction: β€œThere was a student who gave me a poem, and she gave me permission to share it with you, and I want to do that because it explains about putting off and putting off and putting off – especially putting off caring about people we really love. She wants to remain anonymous, but she calls the poem,

    “Things You Didn’t Do”:

Remember the day I borrowed your brand new car and I dented it?
I thought you’d kill me, but you didn’t.

And remember the time I dragged you to the beach, and you said it would rain, and it did?
I thought you’d say, “I told you so.” But you didn’t.

Do you remember the time I flirted with all the guys to make you jealous, and you were?
I thought you’d leave me, but you didn’t.

Do you remember the time I spilled strawberry pie all over your car rug?
I thought you’d hit me, but you didn’t.

And remember the time I forgot to tell you the dance was formal and you showed up in jeans?
I thought you’d drop me, but you didn’t.

Yes, there were lots of things you didn’t do,
But you put up with me, and you loved me, and you protected me.

There were lots of things I wanted to make up to you when you returned from Vietnam.

    But you didn’t.

We welcome you to share...
